YourMealPlanRX currently uses the following third-party services:
When you search for an ingredient, your search query is sent to the USDA FoodData Central API to retrieve nutritional data. The USDA does not receive any personal information about you — only the text of your ingredient search. The USDA's own privacy policy governs their handling of API requests.
The AI Recipe Scanner and Grocery Receipt Scanner features use the Anthropic Claude API. These features are optional and require you to supply your own Anthropic API key. When you use these features, the image you photograph or upload is sent directly from your browser to Anthropic's servers for processing. Your use of these features is also governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy. Your API key is stored only in your browser's localStorage and is never sent to us.
We may add email delivery (Mailchimp or EmailJS), authentication (Google Firebase), or analytics services in the future. This policy will be updated before any such services are activated.
Because your recipe and meal plan data is stored locally on your device rather than on our servers, you are in control of its security. We recommend:
